Find a few high resolution images of abandoned houses and select one that will work.
Cut out the section you are going to use, scale it, and place it in the right spot.
After it is cut out accurately, {CTRL} + click on the layer’s thumb nail, this will select the perimeter of the object(s) in the layer. Under the layer section, choose Create a New Fill or Adjustment Layer and then choose Hue/saturation. This will allow you to adjust the color’s saturation and the darkness/lightness. You might not need that, but you can see that it is needed here.
I think it works, I used the following Saturation and Lightness adjustments. Notice that since we selected the perimeter around the layer’s objects, it created a mask and the adjustments only affect the selected area.
